Roots Children’s Ministry Open House

Come see what is taking place in the children’s ministry this Year! There will be an open house in room 12, November 2nd, at 8:30 am prior to the first service and 12:15 pm immediately following the second service. Come see examples of crafts, music and stories that the children are learning this year. Enjoy a typical “kid” snack and see how you might be able to use your gifts in the children’s ministry!

Need a driver

Recycle old glasses

Just a friendly reminder to remember to bring in your unwanted eye glasses. There is a basket in the lower lobby for your convenience. We take adult and children’s glasses, sun glasses and reading glasses. We also appreciate eyeglass cases which make mailing more convenient. We pass all of these on to M.O.S.T. ministries which in turn distributes them throughout the world to people who would not be able to see without your donated glasses. Thank you to everyone who has donated in the past and those who will continue to donate to this mission in the future.

Ephesians Challenge

“Hans” learned last week that building up the body is more than just pumping iron. You too can pump up your faith by taking the Ephesians challenge which is: read through the book of Ephesians in the New Testament once each week during Pastor Scott’s sermon series on Ephesians.

Hospitality Team

We are looking for friendly faces to fill the new Ames Hospitality Team. That’s right we need 3 people for each service to wander around, help people in and out of cars, find their way, and keep an eye on things. Free training to all who volunteer and you’ll get a real cool “Hospitality Team” button to wear. Our goal is to have enough volunteers so you’ll only need to do it once per month. See Chad Clark for details. Hurry, with bad weather coming, we can use lots of Help!

COOL PROJECT

Figures are in – the “Cool Project” to in-stall air conditioning in the sanctuary is moving forward. A special collection will be taken October 19th for those of you who want to participate but were not able to pledge large amounts. Pledges will be called in soon and the project will move for-ward so that when warm weather comes next year, we will be ready for it. PRAISE GOD!!!!!
